  1. Project Type

Academic Project created during the first two years of Bachelors in Computer Engineering as part of a Mini Project. The aim was to generate a technological platform with a social purpose.
  1. Problem Statment

  • The project revolves around the problematic lives of street hawkers in Mumbai.
  • Due to the pandemic, which has affected the world in several ways, street hawkers have fallen prey to the downfall of economy.
  • Understanding the plight of hawkers and the various challenges that they face, our website aims at improving their condition and helping them gain the recognition they deserve.
  1. Approach

  • The first step in the research process was interviewing about 20 hawkers around Mumbai and gathering data on their struggles and needs.
  • The collected data was summarized to create an affinity map to brainstorm major requirements and concerns.
  • We created a User Flow to understand what would be the most appropriate and user friendly website navigation.
  • Before beginning the main flow, I created a mid-fidelity wireframe kit to discuss and finalize what our main focus should be and which features suited our purpose.
  • The last stage was designing the final high-fidelity prototype, presenting it to the team and developing the solution for presentation.
