An academic project focused on evaluating an existing public platform to analyze its efficiency and ability to meet user requirements. This was a Midterm Project under the course — Interaction Design Methods, which includes User Research Strategies.
Problem Statment
The Walmart mobile app, while feature-rich, presents usability challenges that hinder a smooth shopping experience for users. Difficulties in navigation, ineffective search functionality, and unclear shopping methods lead to frustration, highlighting a need for improvements in user experience and accessibility.
Approach
The project was focused on User Experience Research which included the following methods:
Interviewing 10 individuals using the semi-structured interview approach. Data Collected was used to generate a persona summarizing the key user needs and challenges.
Affinity Mapping to organize qualitative data into meaningful clusters.
Retrospective Think-Alouds, which highlighted two main issues and thus the major struggles that needed attention.
SUS Report for data analysis to understand the usability of the platform against the industry standard.
